Description: The shoulders, front, and rear poachers pocket areas have been lined with an IRR, olive drab, polyester mesh, the same material found on current issue combat vests. This is to make the new Smock, faster drying and more breathable. The mesh will also trap warm air more effectively. The mesh is also sewn to the base of each of the four front pockets.This is the mesh does not catch, or offer any resistance to the passage of water, such as on a river crossing for example. To improve Cold Weather performance, the Smock has an Arctic Smock wired hood permanently sewn to it, with a button hood retainer loop for when the hood is not in use. The basis of the design is the Issue Field Smock, and retains many of its feature, such as four front bellows pockets, with the usual zip next to each chest pocket to allow access to the large "inside" chest pockets.The two way, heavy duty front zip, with velcro fasteng storm flap has also been retained along with a front rank tab, taped buttons, reinforced forearm sections,and velcro tab cuffs. The IRR DPM Camo material is the new polyester - cotton cloth, chosen for durability, and again to aid fast drying.
